Ana M. Rouse-Chatman, 50, of Schenectady passed away on Sunday, January 4th, 2015 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.

Born in Newark, NJ, Ana was the daughter of Rendie Rouse-Jackson of Schenectady and the late Jasper Rouse.

Ana was a graduate of Draper High School and received her Associate's degree from SCCC.

Ana honorably served her country as a member of the United States Navy, serving overseas.

Ana worked in corrections for the NYS Office of Children and Family Services for several years.

She was a member of Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, the Eastern Stars and the Schenectady Silhouettes.

Besides her mother, Rendie, Ana leaves behind her husband, Darrel Chatman and her children Armond Chatman of Schenectady and Lakeiya Chatman-White (Robert) of Albany. She is also survived by her brothers, David Maye (Chevail) of Latham and Kenny Maye of Schenectady, sisters, Sharon Deveaux and Janice Rouse-Brown, both of Schenectady as well as her special niece, Ezria Brown of Rotterdam, her mother-in-law, Grace Buchanan of Albany, brother-in-law, Steven "Celeste" Chatman of Sommerset, NJ, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Pete Buchanan and Karen Chatman both of Albany, godson, Ezequeil D. Rouse and grandchild, RJ.

Funeral services for Ana will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 10:30 am at Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, 1068 Park Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12308, with a visitation held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30am at the church. Interment with military honors will be at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Armond Chatman Scholarship Fund, 817 Vischer Ave., Schenectady, NY 12306.
