Lanita F. Santoro, 79, of Duanesburg passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at her home with family at her side. One of eight children, Lanita was born in Berlin, NY to the late Melvin and Evelyn (Hull) Deyoe. Lanita was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. She worked as an associate at Frank Santoro and Sons, and operated Rotterdam Storage.

Lanita was a very active member of the Rotterdam Republican Club when she was young. She enjoyed bowling, dining out and shopping. She also enjoyed travel very much, especially to Europe with her daughter, MaryBeth. She traveled extensively throughout the United States, South America, Alaska and Hawaii with her husband Frank and her brother and sister-in-law, Bill and MaryLou Deyoe.

Lanita was a kind, generous, loving mother and wife. Despite being afflicted with Rheumatoid Arthritis for many years, she always provided support and encouragement to all, especially her children. Her courage, strength, fortitude and perseverance were an inspiration to all that knew and loved her. She never complained and always did her best regardless of how she felt.

Lanita is predeceased by her husband Frank whom she married in 1952. She is also predeceased by her siblings Melvin Deyoe, Eugene Deyoe, Donald Deyoe and Olive Green.

She is survived by her daughter MaryBeth Santoro of Rotterdam, sons Paul Santoro, Sr. of Princetown, Gary Santoro of Princetown and Ralph Santoro of Duanesburg, brothers William Deyoe (MaryLou) of Tuscon, AZ and Norman Deyoe (Sandy) of Westchester, sister Joyce Ferraro of Glenville, brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Laura Mueller of Hinsdale, IL, 3 grandchildren, Paul Jr., Ralph Jr., and Franklin as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Cyril & Method Cemetery, Rotterdam.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lanita's loving and dedicated caregivers, Lorraine, Sue, Shelly, Lindsey, Taia, Debbie, Katie and Carrie who always went above and beyond to assure her care and comfort.
