Marilyn A. O'Connell, 75, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 5, 2014. Born and educated in Schenectady, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Anthony and Marie (Sacco) Fallone.

A 1957 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, Marilyn worked as an administrative assistant for the New State Department of Military and Naval Affairs for over 29 years before her retirement in 2000. A member of St. Paul the Apostle Church, St. Clare's Auxiliary and Catholic Charities, she was also a former Girl Scout Leader. Marilyn enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, traveling and especially spending time with her family.

Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her brother Anthony Fallone, Jr.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, George H. O'Connell, whom she married April 5, 1959, her children, Christine M. Bartfai (Robert) of Tucson, AZ, Karen S. Bradley (Robert) of Glenville and Carol A. Avossa (Nick) of Kingston, her grandchildren, Rebecca Young (Zach), Zachary Bartfai, Matthew Bartfai (Taylor), Sara Bartfai, Katie Bradley, Christopher Bradley, Nicholas Avossa and Ian Avossa, her brother, Joseph Fallone (Lucille) of Niskayuna and sister-in-law Barbara Fallone of Schenectady.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning October 8th at 10:15am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, followed at 11am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany Street, Schenectady, NY where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening October 7th at the funeral home from 5-8pm. Entombment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn's name can be made to Community Hospice, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
