Doris L. Sheedy, 82, of Schenectady passed away early on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Ellis Hospital.

Born in the Bronx, Doris was the daughter of the late Edward and Ellen (Klein) Holzmann.

Doris worked as an executive secretary for General Electric and Trustco Bank, later working for CDPHP as a facilitated enroller and H&R Block as a client service coordinator. She also worked for Community Hospice for a time.

Doris enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting and had a special love for dogs. She was a former member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Besides her parents, Doris is predeceased by her husband, Michael Sheedy and her brothers, Edward and William Holzmann.

Survivors include her daughters, Dora E. Murphy of Ballston Spa, Janet L. Frasier of St. Louis, MO, Paula A. Matarazzo (Ralph) of Schenectady and Irene A. Frasier of Averill Park. She also leaves behind her sister, Florence E. Tymchyn of Schenectady, grandchildren, Nicole (Michael) Dattilo, Shane Murphy and Jacalyn Swarczewski, great grandchildren, Makena and Brooke Dattilo as well as her faithful friend and companion of 16 years, her pitbull, Honey.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5 at 7pm at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, with a visitation from 5-7pm prior to the service. Interment will be at Memory's Gardens in Colonie at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris' memory can be made to the Activities Department at Glendale Nursing Home, 59 Hetcheltown Rd, Schenectady, NY 12302.
