Christine R. Richmond 61 died Sunday evening November 3rd at her home surrounded by her family. She was the most self-less and sacrificial person we have ever known. She lived her life for other people. Born in Buffalo, NY, Christine was the daughter of Ralph Golemb and the late Ruth (Ellington) Golemb.
A graduate of Honeoye Falls-Lima High School, Christine attended Elim Bible Institute. The business manager for the Capital District Youth for Christ since 1988, she was a member of the National Youth for Christ/USA, the founder of Operation Hannah, a member of a women's group for pastor wife's, a former real estate agent with Bird Reality and a member of City View church in Scotia, NY.
Predeceased by her sister Evelyn Golemb, Christine is survived by her husband of 37 years John P. Richmond III who she married January 4,1976, her children, Rebecca Lynne Lugthart (Keith) of Schenectady and John P. Richmond IV of Glenville (and a host of "adopted" kids too numerous to count), her father Ralph Golemb of Lima, NY, grandchildren John P. Richmond V and Kees J. Lugthart VIII, sister's Kathleen Gelatt (Carl) of Burlington Flats, NY, Pauline Roets of Rochester, NY and Jennifer Stoltman (Tim) of Conesus, NY, a brother, Stephen Golemb (Diana) of Lima, NY along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave. Schenectady on Thursday evening November 7th from 4 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning November 8th at 11 am at City View Church, 132 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, NY. Interment in Maple Shade cemetery, Scotia, NY.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Christine's memory to Capital District Youth for Christ, P.O. Box 443, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
In addition to the wake (11/7) and funeral (11/8), there will be a Memorial Service at YFC's Adventure Center on 11/17 at 1:00pm. This will be a time of tributes, memories and celebration of her life.
PLEASE DO NOT WEAR BLACK TO THE WAKE, FUNERAL or MEMORIAL SERVICE! Chris asked that we all wear bright colors and be happy for her. Thanks!
