Gloria Langenbach Obituary


Gloria Blanche Langenbach 77 died Wednesday morning May 24, 2006 at her son's home in Amsterdam after a long illness. Born on Valentines Day in 1929 she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna Cohn. Gloria lived and raised her family in Schenectady. For the past 15 years she has lived in Lutz, Florida before moving back to Schenectady to be with her family after the onset of her illness. A homemaker, Gloria was an Antique dealer through the 1970's and a former cafeteria worker at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home in the early 1980's. She enjoyed antique shows, flea markets and garage sales; Gloria was also an artist of oil and watercolor painting. A member of the Red hat Society, she loved to dance, garden and landscape her home. Gloria had a talent for interior decorating and enjoyed traveling to Europe, the United Kingdom and cruises to the Caribbean. A good listener and mentor to family and friends, Gloria was a free spirit who enjoyed life she had such loving attention to details to make things extra special for her family, Christmas cookies to parties to Halloween costumes to wrapping presents. She was truly one classy lady and a true Valentine. Gloria was devoted to her predeceased husbands Napoleon H. Morris for 38 years and Harold Langenbach for 10 years. She is survived by her loving children Harold Randy Morris (Carol) of Rotterdam Junction, Ronald Morris of Paragold ,Arkansas, Stephen Morris(Cheryl)of Amsterdam, Scott Morris of Schenectady ,Larry Morris (Sydney) of Lutz, Fl. and Glorianna Morris Viscusi (Ziggy) of Rotterdam, two brothers Harry Cohn (Dee) of Amsterdam and Alfred Cohn (Marta) of Schenectady, her companion of five years Leroy Figlesthaler of Lutz, Fl., Brother-in-law, Robert Morris (carol)of Ormond Beach ,Fl., beloved friend of 40 years Helen Tatarek of Rotterdam, 13 grandchildren,1 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Tuesday evening May 30, 2006 at 6 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. Calling hours to follow service from 6:30 to 9 pm at the funeral home. In Lieu of Flowers contributions may be made in her memory to Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny's Corners Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osbourne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211
