We had the honor and privilege of meeting our second cousin Harold for the first time last August. What a memorable day it was for us to spend with Harold, Jill, and Ted. Harold told us wonderful stories of his life and showed us numerous Bishop family photos. We will never forget him and that memorable day. We are so fortunate to have him as our cousin!

My family lived next door to Mr and Mrs Bishop. We grew up listening to his wonderful stories, playing basketball in the driveway with him, running to see him when we would come home from college or come back to visit as we grew older. He was like family to us. When my father passed, he would watch out for my mother, and when she moved away, he took it upon himself to keep an eye on the house, and

My family lived next door to Mr and Mrs Bishop. We grew up listening to his wonderful stories, playing basketball in the driveway with him, running to see him when we would come home from college or come back to visit as we grew older. He was like family to us. When my father passed, he would watch out for my mother, and when she moved away, he took it upon himself to keep an eye on the house, and we would talk on the phone still a couple times a year. I am so sad to hear of his passing, but blessed to have so many wonderful memories of an amazing, giving man. I'm sure God put him at the head of the line into Heaven.

We knew Harold for a very long time. Whenever we saw or spoke with him at family birthday parties, he was always interested in how we and our family were doing. Harold was a fan of the Matlock TV show, and when we moved to the Wilmington, NC area where the show was filmed, he felt like he knew where we lived. I spoke with him last year, and we had a great conversation about baseball and golf.

When we moved off of Slater Drive, we always talked with Harold on a regular basis. O, the baseball stories, his work experiences, his love of sports and our kids. He would always tell Matthew, he comes the pitch and Matthew was ready for it. He loved the Yankees and would tell me so many stories of when he lived outside of Yankee Stadium. It was awesome to know he watch Micky Mantle, Babe Ruth, Joe Dimaggio, Lou Gehrig and so many other GREAT baseball players, and we talked about those Giants as well. Please know that we loved Harold and Lillian very much and we know he is at peace.

Hard to believe I won't run into Uncle Harold at Mayfair shopping or buying flowers for his two favorite girls, Aunt Edna and Jill.
For as long I can remember he always called me on my birthday to wish me a Happy Biirthday and to catch up on our lives(almost 69 times).

I too, was always fond of Uncle Harold, as a child growing up in his presence, I was always impressed and intrigued by how he embraced what 'I' was interested in,,, always encouraging, calm and willing to chat, I have missed him for some time, and now even more. May God embrace his soul.

Eric was always fond of Uncle Harold and used to make a point of dropping by to see him when we visited from Virginia. He sure had a great life and family.
