Tadeus (Ted) Czapski 92 died Saturday evening February 9th at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Newark, NJ, Ted was the son of the late Stanilus and Helen (Flachinowski) Czapski. An engineer, he received his Bachelors degree in engineering from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and worked for the General Electric Company for over 40 years before his retirement as manager of purchasing in 1982. A member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the YMPA, Ted was also a graduate of the GE apprenticeship program and served with the Army in WWII. He received the Bronze Star during the Battle of the Bulge. Ted is survived by his wife of 66 years Phyllis Marra Czapski who he married July 28, 1946, his children, Karen E. Orlop (Frank) of Ballston Lake, Glen T Czapski(Chris) of Phoenix, AZ and Gary Czapski of Ballston Lake and a granddaughter Kara Czapski Orlop. A committal shelter service with military honors will be held on Wednesday February 20, 2013 at Saratoga National Cemetery at 11am.
