Merton C. Tuft 82 died Saturday afternoon February 11th surrounded by his loving family at Ellis Hospital. Born in Pattersonville, NY, Merton was the son of the late Robert and Ellen (Mulligan) Tuft. An army veteran of the Korean War, Merton worked in Rotterdam at Millivac Instruments Inc. where he retired as a machine engraver in 1985 after years of service. In 1998 he was predeceased by his dear wife Joyce (Dykeman) Tuft who he married June 3, 1956. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Debra Visser of Ilion and Denise Tuft of Rotterdam Jct., grandchildren Keegan P. and Kacey Joy Visser of Ilion and Amy Visser of New Port Richey, Fl., great grandchild Robbie, sister-in-law Shirley DeLuca of Rotterdam Jct. and several nieces, nephews and loving friends. Funeral services will be held private at the convenience of the family. Spring interment in Van Vechten Cemetery, Pattersonville, NY. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to a charity of Choice.
